We welcome applications from students who have completed or are in the process of taking the conversion course following a law degree as well as those who have studied law, with a strong academic background and at least a 2:1 honours degree.
We operate an Equal Opportunities policy. In considering applications we take account of academic achievements and the standard of degree likely to be obtained but also a genuine desire for a career in the profession and an interest in working and living locally. We place great importance on good interpersonal skills in the context of both the workplace and client care. We are looking for trainees who combine intellectual ability with practical common sense.
What do our trainees say about Glanvilles training contracts?
Catherine Ismail - Trainee, Chichester & Fareham
“I felt extremely welcomed from day one. There is a warm atmosphere at Glanvilles and you are never short of any help or advice from even the busiest of staff members. Time will always be made for you and your training.”
Alexander Mulroney - Litigation / Dispute Resolution, Fareham
“Glanvilles has a number of experienced and highly proficient Solicitors within the Firm. Training with Glanvilles will provide you with the opportunity to learn key skills from these individuals, in conjunction with giving you the benefit of a vast bank of knowledge to call upon should you require any assistance after qualifying. As a newly qualified Litigator, I run claims within a number of areas of law. If I ever need assistance from a professional who conducts day-to-day transactions within a certain sector, I am always confident that they will be on board and happy to assist. You should never be afraid to ask someone within your team for support if this is going to benefit your clients. When training at Glanvilles, you will quickly learn that there are no egos and that you are surrounded by professionals who genuinely care about your development and success.”
Scott Richardson - Commercial Business, Fareham
“As part of my training I experienced a wide variety of legal work which enabled me to find the right area of law for me to qualify in. All the staff are welcoming, friendly and supportive and the experiences gained from my training contract at Glanvilles have only been beneficial to me since qualification.”
Emily Wentworth - Trainee, Havant
“From the very first week of my training contract I was sitting in on client meetings. Since then I have been given more responsibility in those meetings which has allowed me to build my confidence with client contact in a variety of circumstances. I will be able to build on this experience throughout the rest of my training contract.”
