Wills Trusts & Probate Legal Assistant/Paralegal, Havant

This is a new and exciting opportunity for a Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our busy Private Client department based in Havant, Hampshire.

The successful candidate will be handling and assisting with administration tasks, including client service and supporting the department with the managing of a broad range of Private Client work, whilst working in a supportive open-planned environment reporting directly to the office Head of Department. This is a great career development opportunity.

The successful candidate should have at least  12 months experience working in an office environment, ideally some of which working in a legal work setting with exposure to Private Client work, although further training will be provided. The successful candidate should be willing to work independently, particularly as the role develops to assist the department with the managing of a varied Private Client caseload,  as well as part of a team, and have a flexible approach to the tasks delegated. The candidate should be organised and have excellent client facing skills and be confident in call handling due to volume of incoming calls and enquiries.       

A full licence and ability to drive is desirable, to assist with outside client appointments and to travel between offices, if necessary.

Start date immediately available. Full time hours of Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm preferred but some flexibility may be considered for the right candidate.

Company and Commercial Legal Secretary, Fareham

This exciting part time role will involve many aspects of support assisting the overall Company and Commercial process on a daily basis. This is a role that offers variety whilst offering support to your colleagues around you.

Key Responsibilities of the Company and Commercial Legal Secretary include:-

  • General administration of client files, managing diary appointments, filing, postal communications, etc.
  • Audio typing of correspondence, attendance notes, legal documents.
  • Assisting clients by phone and in person to arrange appointments, take messages and generally to assist and advance all client matters.
  • Use of the scanners, photocopiers, fax machine and post room equipment.
  • Use of Linetime case management system and other 3rd party websites.

THE CANDIDATE: The successful candidate will ideally have at least two years secretarial or PA experience, ideally within a Corporate Commercial Law environment, be a proven team player whilst working well in a fast paced environment as well as the ability to follow instructions and offer proactive administrative support.  Available to work 4 days per week between 9am and 2pm (5 hours per day) or 9.30am to 2.30pm.

Job Type: Part time, Permanent

Salary: £15,000 - £16,000  (£26,000 - £28,000 FTE) depending on experience
