Dementia Support Christmas Double Up Appeal 2022

Appeal LIVE from 29th November-13th December 2022

Glanvilles Legal Services are very pleased to be once again sponsoring Dementia Supports Christmas Double Up Appeal.  Where One Donation can give Double the Impact.  At a challenging economic time having the ability to match the donation and reach more families this Christmas and beyond is amazing. Through their Christmas Double Up appeal, every donation made to Dementia Support from Tuesday 29th November until Tuesday 13th December will be DOUBLED – providing a greater impact for families who depend on their services.

Dementia affects the whole family.  Alongside the emotional impact of having a loved one diagnosed with a terminal condition, partners, children, and even close friends of someone with dementia can find themselves with new roles as carers.

The number of diagnoses is on the rise, with currently 944,000 people in the UK, which will increase above 1million by 2025.  To add further complexity, social care services are more and more under pressure, and families are now facing the added burden of the cost-of-living crisis, so their reach and their growing range of support services are stretched year on year.

Donations enable Dementia Support to deliver services helping the whole family.  Their emphasis is on recognising the differing needs of the person living with dementia and the people who love and care for them and providing personalised support for them. Their Wayfinders work with local community services, hospitals, GP’s and importantly the family and person living with dementia. Listening to their individual needs to maintain independence, belief, and the momentum to cope with each day and new challenges. Their hub at Sage House is where they provide facilities to assist in the care, enhance wellbeing, provide fun for people living with dementia, and respite time for carers.

How to donate

You can donate online at: www.dementiasupport.org.uk/donate

At Glanvilles Legal Services, as a local law firm, we understand the importance of having the correct mechanisms of support in place for families to manage challenges, especially after changing personal circumstances. We can see the immediate impact families have from the support they receive at Sage House and ask for your support towards their appeal.

“Dementia Support’s facility Sage House is currently the only facility of its kind. By supporting the charity, we would hope that one day it will be able to reach all those in need of its services and support in West Sussex. I believe Sage House has the potential to become the model for community hubs throughout the UK.”
