Alexander graduated from the University of Portsmouth with First Class Honours in law, prior to studying the Legal Practice Course in London (Moorgate). He then successfully obtained a Training Contract with the Firm in 2014; qualifying as a Solicitor in September 2016. Alexander is now part of the Firm's Dispute Resolution and Employment Departments.
With regard to Dispute Resolution work, Alexander acts for Claimants and Defendants alike. He accepts instructions in relation to most contentious areas of law, including but not limited to: contractual disputes, commercial and residential property disputes (including possession claims), building disputes, shareholder disputes, contentious probate matters, debt recovery actions, insolvency related matters, partnership disputes and professional negligence cases.
In relation to Employment Law work, Alexander accepts instructions from employers and employees. He is able to act in relation to contentious and non-contentious Employment Law matters, which includes the following: unfair and constructive dismissal cases, advising and drafting employment procedure documents and contracts, advising parties on Settlement Agreements, advising on TUPE scenarios (including TUPE matters where there is a complicating Insolvency or Administration factor involved) and providing general day-to-day advice on matters.
Alexander understands the consequences that litigation can have on the resources of individuals and companies, in conjunction with its other opportunity costs. He is therefore always mindful of the benefits of encouraging parties to settle disputes via Alternative Dispute Resolution ("ADR") whenever possible. However, should Court action become necessary, Alexander has regularly litigated matters to a successful conclusion; adding value by providing pragmatic and commercial advice to clients throughout the process.
