Grateful Will Aid charities thank Glanvilles

Kevin Hawkes, Legacy Development Executive at Sightsavers, representing the Will Aid charities, paid a special visit to Glanvilles solicitors to thank the staff for their fantastic contribution to Will Aid and to present them with a Will Aid certificate.

He explained the importance of the solicitors’ hard work to Sightsavers: 

“The support of Glanvilles during Will Aid has made a huge difference to our work in some of the poorest parts of the world. The money raised by Will Aid helps us to prevent and cure blindness and to support those who are irreversibly blind through training, education and other programmes. Over one fifth of our income comes from legacies and this helps us to ensure that we can remain there for people who need our support in the future.”

The firm raised £5,550 for charity across its South Coast branches by writing Wills for local clients as part of November 2012’s Will Aid campaign. Will Aid clients were offered a basic Will and asked to make a donation instead of paying the firm’s usual fees. The money raised is shared by Actionaid, Age UK, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, NSPCC, Save the Children, SCIAF, Sightsavers and Trocaire.

The firm has participated in Will Aid before and has raised an amazing grand total of £13,675 to date. This sum has made a real and lasting difference to the lives of those people in the UK and all over the world helped by the Will Aid charities.

Our Marketing Manager commented on the success of the campaign: 

“We prepared over 70 Wills for local people through the scheme in 2012 and are delighted to have helped them provide for their family and friends as well as raising such a large amount for charity. We would like to thank all of the clients who came to us and contributed so generously.”
